Kyle spent the past three months greeting a host of visitors in our Globe Gallery. His energy and enthusiasm brightened our storefront and our entire team. We asked Kyle to reflect on his experience at People's Liberty...read on!
What did you accomplish during your residency that you're most proud of?
K: I’m most proud of having the opportunity to organize the Limited Press exhibition in the Globe Gallery. It was wonderful to be given the ability to take ownership of activating the gallery in between Globe Grant installations, and it was really inspiring to see the breadth of work submitted by some very talented people. I’m also pretty proud of the fact that I was able to write the copy and design the layout of the door graphics on our storefront. Overall, I’m just proud to be a part People’s Liberty in any way.
What skills do you feel like you developed/sharpened?
K: I really feel like I have been able to refine both my design and writing skills. I had been looking in earnest for opportunities to do both, and my time here has as a resident has allowed me to both develop those abilities and figure out where I want to apply them.
Did you make any connections or form any relationships during your term that you plan to carry forward?
K: I really did meet some inspiring people with whom I hope to remain connected. People’s Liberty is like a magnet for people who are involved with the arts, culture, and their community, and these are most definitely the people I want to surround myself with. It’s hard to name just one person or group of people; everyone I’ve met through People’s Liberty has left an impression on me in some way.
What's next for you?
K: What I really aim to do is remain involved with the arts, and I think my design and writing abilities are where I can play a role.
