Mind + Heart: Open.
I only have about a month left of this residency and I can’t believe it! Time has flown by with the daily hustle and bustle of People’s Liberty. I’ve watched and documented projects starting and ending, people learning and being inspired, eyes and minds opening to new ideas and concepts. In turn, it has taught me about myself and about the world around me. There are hard days, easy days, and in-between days. Sometimes the universe has a way of guiding you on a path that doesn’t always feel comfortable, but as you continue to show up you start to realize why you’re there.
I’m at People’s Liberty learning strengths I hadn’t yet uncovered before I started. I’m learning that there is much, much more goodness in this world than there is the opposite—you just have to pay attention. There are always people that are willing to help you, to guide you, to point you in the right direction, you just have to speak up and show up. Your journey has a way of beginning to shape and mold at just the right moments, at just the right time, when you show up and keep your mind and heart open. People’s Liberty continues to teach me that I’m part of this larger tapestry of people that want what’s best for this city, this world, and are constantly inspired, challenged, and moved to make the future bright.
